UALS – Paris

On Tuesday 28 March 2023, UALS departed for Paris. The trip is part of our ambition to offer all learners a residential opportunity whilst at the Academy.

On the first full day in Paris pupils visited the Tour Maine-Montparnasse, also commonly named Tour Montparnasse, a 210-metre office skyscraper located in the Montparnasse area of Paris, France. Constructed from 1969 to 1973, it was the tallest skyscraper in France until 2011, when it was surpassed by the 231-metre Tour First. After lunch in the Jardin du Luxembourg pupils visited the Notre Dame, before finishing the day with a visit to the Eiffel Tower and a River tour along the River Seine.

On their second day in the French capital, pupils visited had the opportunity to take in a stadium tour of Stade De France. Later on in the day, pupils took in the fantastic artwork at the studios located at

Il de la Cite. The day finished with a walk to the top of the city for a panoramic city view of Paris.

After two jam packed days pupils returned home safe and sound having had a wonderful time.

UALS would like to thank Connor Ratcliffe for organising the trip and to the staff that assisted by going on the trip to make it such a valuable experience for our Year 7 learners.
